I would never go back to using opening coulters because the problems we had with hairpinning were greatly reduced after removing them.

We also use no row cleaners and rely on the disc openers to slice through our residue.
As such many no tillers do not use residue movers allowing the planter to run on a layer of residue to avoid problems.
Row cleaners also prevent hair pinning which occurs when residue is pinched in the seed trench next to the seed robbing critical moisture.
Floating row cleaners with depth bands are the design of choice for no till conditions.
Plan on mostly no tilling corn into bean stubble or beans in corn stubble.

Once the planter is properly leveled the performance of row cleaners can be greatly improved.
